Louise was preceded in death by her husband, Howard, and her son-in-law, Ronald Layne Miller.
Louise is survived by her sister, Bertha Marie Masten; her beloved sister-in-law, Wadene Galantin; her children, Gloria Wilson Miller, William Wilson (Gail), Barbara Koeck (Larry), and Virginia Lyeth (Russell); her grandchildren, Howard Lyeth (Lara), Chantal Lyeth, Kirstine Barber (Thomas), Emily Miller (Jake Hofmeister), Anna Koeck, William Koeck (Sara); and great-grandchildren, Louise and Harry Lyeth, Braxton and Mason Barber, Harriet Hofmeister-Miller, Marshall and Savannah Robertson and Marleigh, McKenzie, and Harper Koeck.
Louise was a longtime member of Ivy Memorial Baptist Church and the Order of the Eastern Star. Louise retired from Hampton City Schools after more than twenty years in food service. Louise and Howard started Cardinal Realty in 1979 and she continued to run the show until her death.
Throughout her life, Louise volunteered for numerous community organizations, including the pharmacy at LAFB, as a poll worker, making food packs at the food pantry and wherever she was needed. Louise was particularly focused on activities her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren participated in. You could always find Louise bringing her co-volunteers cookies and baked goods, as her love language was to feed others and see them leave with a smile. She will be missed by her family, friends, and all those that loved her so deeply.
A celebration of Louise's life will be held at 1:00 PM, Monday, May 8, 2023, at Ivy Memorial Baptist Church, 2200 Coliseum Drive, Hampton, VA 23666.
