Lydia Faith Blackburn, 78, passed away on Wednesday, November 30, 2011. She was born in Robeson County, NC and was a resident of Newport News for 57 years. She was a wage disbursement supervisor for Drucker & Falk and retired in 1999 after 35 years of service. She was also an honorary member of the Hampton Ladies of the Elks (Treasurer for 5 years).
Lydia was preceded in death by her husband, Ronald L. Blackburn, Sr. and mother Janie Richardson. She is survived by her son, Ronald L. Blackburn, Jr. and wife, Melodie; brother, Bill Richardson; brother-in-law, Woody Blackburn and wife, Betty; grandchildren, Cory Blackburn, Holly Blackburn, and Faith Blackburn; and many nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. on Mon., Dec. 5 at Parklawn-Wood Funeral Home, with a celebration of Lydia's life to begin at 2:00 pm. Interment will follow in Parklawn Memorial Park.
