

Margaret M. Smith, 88, a native of Greensboro, North Carolina, 40 year resident of Suffolk, Virginia and longtime resident of the Peninsula, passed away on Friday, Oct. 1, 2010 at the James River Convalescent and Rehabilitation Center in Newport News, VA. She was an active member of the Westhampton Baptist Church, the First Baptist Church of Suffolk and the Riverside Baptist Church in Newport News.
Margaret was preceded in death by her husband, Hal Edward Smith.
She is survived by her son, Hal M. Smith and his wife, Liz of Wake Forest, NC; daughter, Audrey S. Morrison and her husband, Doug of Poquoson; four grandchildren, Wayne Morrison and his wife, Debby, Eddie Morrison and his wife, Becky all of Poquoson, Dawn Kingston of Powhatan, VA and Farris Smith of Brazil; five great-grandchildren, Zach Morrison, Morgan and Micah Kingston, Rachel and Bradshaw Morrison.
The family wishes to express great gratitude to the staff of the Jefferson Unit at James River Convalescent for their wonderful care and love given to Margaret.
Friends are invited to visit from 10 to 11 AM Monday, Oct. 4 Parklawn-Wood Funeral Home; where a celebration of Margaret's life will follow at 11 AM. Interment will follow in Parklawn Memorial Park.
