

Marie was born in Bridgeport, Connecticut on March 17, 1936 to George and Harriet Lattanzi. She graduated from Harding High School, Bridgeport, and joined the US Air Force on September 1, 1956. She served as a computer data processor at Ent Air Force Base, Colorado Springs, Colorado where she met her husband, John Pawluk, Jr. They were married on April 22nd, 1957. Soon after their marriage she left the Air Force to begin her new life as an Air Force spouse and mother.
During her husband’s Air Force career Marie raised three daughters and participated in many volunteer and social activities at assignments in Colorado, Massachusetts, Michigan, Turkey, the Azores, South Carolina, and Virginia. Among other activities, Marie worked as a Red Cross volunteer at base hospitals and as a volunteer at base Thrift Shops. She also enjoyed bowling in leagues with her husband and with her friends from the NCO Wives Club and Officers Spouses Club. She continued bowling and spouse club activities in the Langley AFB community well after her husband’s retirement from the Air Force.
Marie was a loving and giving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. Her entire family was greatly blessed by her selflessness, patience, wisdom, and cooking talents.
Surviving Marie are three daughters: Karen Pawluk Rissling (Eric) of Yorktown, Nadine Pawluk of Poquoson, and Lisa Pawluk Hansen (Jon) of Hampton; five grandchildren: Erin Rissling Matthews (Jared) of Yorktown, Laura Rissling Moore (Jeffrey) of Poquoson, Neil Rissling (Jasmine) of US Army Ft. Eustis, Steven Rissling (Emily) of Hampton, and Samuel Smith (Kellie) of San Antonio, Texas; three great grandsons: Rowen Moore, Eli Moore, and Henry Rissling; her brother, Norman Lattanzi of Shelton, Connecticut; and several nieces and nephews as well as grand nieces and nephews.
Marie was preceded in death by her beloved husband John Pawluk, Jr., her parents George and Harriet Lattanzi, her brothers William Lattanzi and George Lattanzi, and her sisters Valerie Lattanzi and Francis L. Heinsz.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 1:00 pm on Monday, 13 December at the Bethel Manor Chapel, 1793 First Street, Bethel Manor Family Housing Area, Hampton, Virginia. Interment will follow at Parklawn Memorial Park, Hampton.
