

Marlon Jermaine Oliver, 39, passed away on Sunday, November 30, 2014. He was a native of Newport News, Virginia and a resident of Hampton for 15 years. Marlon attended Norfolk State University for two years and enjoyed services at Progressive Church of Jesus. Marlon married Kimberly Oliver on August 13, 2012 and their union produced two beautiful children.
Marlon was a general contractor for Mohandy Services and also worked for several companies, including Hercules Realty and Stuart Gardens. He was a member of Royal Men of Solomon #40 in Newport News, Virginia. Brother Marlon gave to the community and much more. He used good judgment and was mo-handy than most. He also could make anyone laugh.
Marlon is survived by his wife of two years, Kimberly Oliver; children, Marlon Oliver, Jr. and Vivian Oliver; parents, Rickey, Sr. and Jacqueline Oliver; brothers, Rickey Oliver, Jr., Jonathan Oliver, and Orlando Johnson; sisters, Laurian Oliver, Jacqueline Oliver, Nastassja Tucker, Keyena Oliver, and Tamika Carney; grandfather, James E. William, Sr.; and a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and friends.
The family will receive friends from 7:00 to 9:00 pm on Sunday, December 7, 2014 at Parklawn-Wood Funeral Home. A celebration of Marlon’s life will be held at 11:00 am, Monday, December 8, at Restoration and Faith Ministry, 2114 Wickham Avenue, in Newport News. Interment will follow at Hampton Memorial Gardens. Following the interment, a repass will be held at the Church of Jesus, 630 Anderson Lane (near Shell Road), in Hampton.
