Martha Virginia Wilson

Martha Virginia Wilson passed away peacefully on June 17, 2026. She was known to family and friends by many names; Martha, Virginia, Gin, Ginny, and most importantly Nanny. Martha was born on January 18, 1930 to Thomas L. Freeman Sr., and Annie Virginia Firth Freeman.

She was a member of the Bethel Baptist Church and loved attending their Sunday Services.

She was preceded in death by her husband H. Frank Wilson Sr., her son Richard C. Wilson, brothers Pete, Buster, and Fay, along with her sisters Shirley and Lois.

Martha is survived by her son H. Frank Wilson Jr. (Chris), and daughter Barbara Pettigrew (Bill). She also leaves behind her grandchildren, Scott Pettigrew (Melissa), Jennifer Greiner (Tim), Erin Park (Eason), and Lauren Morris (Seth); and great grandchildren Katlynne, Will, Brendan, Walker, Beau and Henry. She also leaves behind numerous nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday July 18, 2026 at 11 AM at Parklawn Wood Funeral Home, located at 2551 N. Armistead Ave, Hampton VA 23666.

The family would like to thank all of Martha's caretakers over the last 6 years at the Hamilton and York Post Acute Care.

In lieu of flowers the family asks that a donation be made to Bethel Baptist Church.
