Marvine Haggard Windle

Marvine Haggard Windle, 89, passed away on Tuesday, August 22, 2017, the week before her 90th birthday. She was a native of Starkville, MS, was a resident of Hampton since 1966, and then resided in Virginia Beach from 2013-2017.

Her career in Civil Service began at Langley Air Force Base in 1958 and she retired in 1989 as the NAF Financial Management Officer for the 1st Tactical Fighter Wing. She was a member of Ivy Memorial Baptist Church and its Joyful Gleaners Sunday school class since 1974 and she served on a number of committees including finance and audit. Her hobbies included bowling and she was an avid golfer.

Preceding her in rest are her father, Curtis Edgar Haggard; mother Lillie Delila Avant; brother, Shellie M. Haggard; sisters, Marguerite H. Johnson, Deloris H. Stokes, Jewel H. Gibson, Barbara H. Elmore. She is survived by many nieces and nephews.

A celebration of Marvine’s life will be held at 4:00 p.m. Friday, September 1, 2017 at Our Lady of Perpetual Help 4560 Princess Anne Rd Virginia Beach, VA 23462.
