Mary was born in Newport News, Virginia, on February 12, 1920, and was a lifelong resident of the Peninsula. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great grandmother.
Mary was preceded in death by her parents, Peter and Estella Panayotis, husband, Craven Crump Sr., her children, Steven Crump, Wanda Harris and Craven Crump Jr., son-in-law, Norman Harris Sr., her sister, Mildred Duda, three brothers, Peter, Paul and Robert Panayotis, and her beloved pug, Milo.
She leaves to cherish her memories her grandchildren, Norman “Ed” Harris Jr. and his wife, Sharon of Greensboro, NC, Clifton “Scott” Harris and his wife, Korie of Smithfield, VA, Diana Herrero and her husband, Teby of Lakewood, CO, and John Crump of Liverpool, NY; her daughter-in-law, Joyce Crump of Liverpool, NY; eight great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren.
A celebration of life ceremony will be held on Saturday, June 10, 2017, at 2:00 pm, at Parklawn-Wood Funeral Home with Reverend George Boomer officiating. Interment will follow in Parklawn Memorial Park.
The family would like to express their gratitude for the care and compassion provided by the staff of Virginia Health Services at Northampton Convalescent and Rehabilitation Center and James River Convalescent and Rehabilitation Center.
