IN THE CARE OF
Parklawn-Wood Funeral Home & Memorial Park
Mary Edge passed away peacefully at the age of 87. She has now joined her loving and devoted husband Fred (1927-2005).
Mary was born and raised in Pembroke, NC. She attended nursing school at Erlanger Hospital in Chattanooga, TN. She spent her entire nursing career with the VA hospital.
Mary is survived by her 2 daughters and their husbands: Dianne and Chuck Ferguson of Hampton, VA and Kimberly and Frank Petracek of Dublin, CA. She is also survived by 4 grandchildren, Zachary, Jordan (Lucas), Kristen and Taylor. Mary also had 2 great grandchildren, Isabella and Kaleb. She was preceded in death by her mother Sallie Locklear, her brothers Claudie and Sanford Locklear and sister Strawdie Howe.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations to The Gary Sinise Foundation (for veterans and first responders) or the Alzheimer's Association. A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, July 20, 2019 at 10am at Liberty Baptist Church. All family and friends are welcome. The only stipulation is no funeral attire required. Just wear bright colors (sundresses, skirts, shorts, even Hawaiian shirts). Mary always loved a good party.
Friends are encouraged to visit www.parklawn-woodfh.com to share memories and words of condolence with the family.
