Mary O. Horton, 74, a native of Waycross, Georgia and a 27 year resident of Poquoson passed away on Tues., Dec. 6, 2011. She worked in retail sales and retired in 1993. She was a member of Maranatha Baptist Church in Yorktown.
Mary was preceded in death by her parents, Rev. Robert C. and Vinah Bell O’Berry and brother Robert C. O’Berry.
She is survived by her husband of 59 years, Norman G. Horton, Jr.; her two sons, Steven Horton and his wife Doris and Eric Horton and his wife Elizabeth; two daughters, Gayle Lab and her husband Rick and Darlene Jennings; nine grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren; brother Rev. L. Lyn O’Berry.
The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. on Thurs., Dec. 8 at Parklawn-Wood Funeral Home. A celebration of Mary's life will be held at 2 p.m. on Fri., Dec. 9 at the funeral home. Interment will follow in Parklawn Memorial Park.
