Mary Odell Searls was born to William Sr. and Dorothy Searls on an almost spring day, March 11, 1951. She was the youngest of three children. She is survived by her brother, William Jr. (Linda); sister, Treassa, Uncle Phillip; two nieces; three nephews; three great-nieces; two great-nephews; one great-great-niece; and many friends who will miss her dearly.
Mary graduated from Hampton High School in 1969. She was a member of Resurrection Lutheran Church in Newport News, VA and ended her working career at Perfect Commerce.
Mary enjoyed NASCAR racing and wrestling. She loved to tell stories about taking her niece and nephews to watch wrestling up close and personal. Mary had a story or many stories for every occasion. She loved to reminisce about working at Kings Department Store, Penn Luggage or the Airport. She could talk for hours about trips to visit family when she was younger. She would talk about jewelry and what pieces she had. She lived a very active life. More than anything she loved to talk about her Mama and Daddy. She especially loved seafood from Surf Rider Restaurant in Poquoson. Anytime seafood was mentioned she was ready to go.
Mary will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
