I did not know your parents but came across their obituary while I was searching for someone with the same last name. How heartbreaking for your family to lose both parents a day apart. I lost my father-in-law at the beginning of the covid lockdown and it was awful. We couldn’t even go to console my mother-in-law for fear of covid.

Deborah and family,  I am so sorry to learn about the passing of your parents and grandparents.  Praying for God to give you the  peace that surpasses all understanding during your time of bereavement .  

We live down the street from your parents and because of Covid restrictions to keep everyone healthy and safe, and being newer residents, we were not able to get as close to or familiar with your parents as we would have liked.  But, we could feel the love and connection that they both had with all of the hearts for their offspring, and how proud they were of each and everyone of you! I’m so sorry to hear of the loss of your parents. They were so wonderful to all of us as band parents and they were always happy with wonderful senses of humor. They loved you so much and were so very proud of you. I was really happy to friend your mom on FB these last few years and reunite with them. The love your parents shared with each other and the world was so evident in their entire beings. The world is a lesser place without them but they left a lasting impact on so many lives and hearts. It was 1969 and I had just graduated high school and was on a trip East.  Maryann, one of my favorite cousins, had offered to take me on a trip to Atlantic City and its famous oceanside boardwalk.  I was pumped!  This trip is a memory I hold dear after all these years.  We were both on the verge of making decisions that would steer the course of our lives,  and we shared all of them.  Over the years Maryann and I kept in touch through personal letters and emails.  I always thought there would be time to get together again.  Through our missives I learned of Maryann and Ken's joys and struggles.  Their children and grandchildren brought them so much joy and we shared that joy.  They were happy to share whatever good news came their way.  I regret not getting to know Ken because he was the light of Maryann's life - a strong bond like they had is indeed a blessing.  My sincere condolences to the entire Siegel family.  Heaven is a little brighter now.  (I'm making a donation to McKenna's fund - I had intended to awhile ago, so no more waiting on the important things.)

I never met Mr. & Mrs. Siegel,  but considering how nice of a person their daughter Deborah is, they must have been real good people.  James McCoart.     

I met Ken walking to first grade. He lived down the street and was walking past my house with two of my classmates. We soon learned that we were cousins. I lost touch with him when I went away to college. We reconnected briefly after college when he and Marianne were living in Philadelphia as were my husband and I. Facebook reconnected us and we wrote about getting together. I am very sad to read the news of their passing. Hopefully, we will meet in the next world.

I had a special friendship with Maryanne. I found if you were friends with one of them, you would be friends with them both. They were just that special. I loved them both. I met them in the mid 80’s in Sterling Park. They were active in the youth sports programs. Later I worked alongside Maryanne at Palmer Technical Services in Sterling. Even though we left Sterling and later they moved to southern Va to be closer to Kevin and his family we stayed in close contact, via telephone, FB and letters. Their three grandchildren were their greatest joy. 
I haven’t seen Maryanne in years but we stayed in close contact. A few yrs ago she read on FB that I was looking for a specific vintage Singer sewing machine. She wrote me right away and she told me she had one that belonged to her dear Aunt Bunny. I could have it. She sent me a picture and Lo and behold it was a Singer 301 machine, the exact machine I was searching for.  Ken packed it up and they sent it to me. I am a quilter so I made her a quilt on Aunt Bunny’s sewing machine and surprised her with it a couple of months later. It brought her so much joy and I know it must have brought her comfort through her many illness’s. Maryanne, I will always treasure our friendship and Aunt Bunny’s sewing machine. Thank you for the joy you brought into my life. I will miss you and Ken forever.  Many hugs to all of the family. We are saddened by the news of their passing Ken and MaryAnn were our friends and neighbors for the past 6 years. We enjoyed our time together and hanging out at the pool.   May they Rest In Peace. 

My condolences to the Siegel family.  I am so sorry to hear this sad news.  Maryann was my roommate at Duquesne for 2 years and I have many happy memories of our time together.  I remember when she met Ken and how much they cared for each other right from the start.  So glad we kept in touch over the years.  I will keep them both and all of you in my prayers.

Dear Siegel Family,

We are so very sorry to learn of the deaths of your parents.  They were delightful people and such a loving couple.  We looked forward to seeing them on a daily walks after COVID shut everything down.  One of our favorite memories is when they were "flocked" for their 50th wedding anniversary by their grandsons ("supervised" by their younger sister) .  They were so surprised and delighted by how successfully it was accomplished and how it was such a tangible representation of how much they were loved and adored by both their grandchildren and by all their family.  All those pink flamingos allowed all of us to celebrate with them and also allowed them to relive the joy of it over and over again.  We are all just so grieved by your loss.  May God Bless and Keep You All through this incredibly painful process!

Maryann and I "rediscovered" each other (thru her Mom, Rita) about 20 years ago. We are 2nd cousins, having Irish roots thru the Tehan family. We finally got to actually meet in 2014 in VA (see pic) and had a great time with Ken and her whole family.  Had been in constant contact with her mostly just our family genealogy and bragging about our kids and grandkids. She LOVED her family dearly. We had planned a trip last September, but had to cancel, and hoped to try again this fall. Mary and I will miss her and Ken very much, and pray that their family continues on with love and hope. 

We have been close friends with Maryann and Ken for 43 years.  Our kids were friends with their kids, and went through school and sports together. We couldn't have asked for better friends to share our lives with.  Maryann and Ken will live on in our hearts forever.  Our love goes out to Debbie, Kevin, Kelly, Gavin, Jake, and McKenna.  They were the light of Maryann and Ken's lives.

Maryann and Ken were our neighbors for about 6 years.   We had many a conversation and laughs about our life stories.   We will miss them very much.  May they rest in peace.  May Kevin, Kelly, Gavin, Jake, Mickey & Deb find peace in their many memories.
