Melissa was born in Reidsville, NC and grew up in Hampton, Virginia. She had a contagious sense of humor and loved teasing her friends and family. Melissa had a generous spirit and always made time to help those she loved. She was a loving wife, mother, favorite aunt and a precious “GG” to her sweet grandbabies.
She was preceded in death by her father, Michael Boyd and is survived by her mother, Faye Boyd; her loving husband of 28 years Scott Blake; her children, Brittany and Landen Blake; brothers, Brad Boyd (Christy) and Brian Boyd (Anne); sister, Holly Swedlund (Ron); granddaughters, Aubree and Meribella; grandson, Jaxon; several nieces and nephews and countless friends.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 4, 2022 at Parklawn-Wood Funeral Home 2551 N. Armistead Ave Hampton, VA 23666. A Celebration of Life service will follow at 7:00 p.m.
