Michael honorably served in the U.S. Army and was a veteran of the Vietnam War. After his service to our country, he went to work for the Virginia State Police and retired on January 1, 2002 as a Master Trooper after 30 years of dedicated service. He was a member of Bethany United Methodist Church.
Michael was preceded in death by his parents, Holmes “Jack” and Margaret “Toots” Hendrickson. He is survived by his wife of 47years, Diane Hendrickson; sons, Thomas Hendrickson and wife, Becky, and Aaron Hendrickson and wife, Vangie; grandchildren, Ryan Hendrickson, Cody Hendrickson, Grace Keller, Jonah Tersol, Annalynn Hendrickson, and Abram Hendrickson; mother-in-law, Jean Parks; brother, Joseph Hendrickson and wife, Janice; sister-in-law, Linda Killmon and husband, Phillip; nieces and nephews, Billie Jean Miles, Bobbie Lyn West, Ev Gunn, and Holmes Hendrickson
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 pm on Wednesday, February 5, 2014 at Parklawn-Wood Funeral Home. A celebration of Michael’s life will be held at 11 am on Thursday, February 6 at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Parklawn Memorial Park with honors rendered by the Virginia State Police.
