Mildred Lou Jean Henigan

Jeanne Henigan, 86, Newport News, VA passed away peacefully on March 31, 2015. Born on January 9, 1929 in Hickory, NC to the late Claude and Viola Sain, she spent most of her life in Hampton raising her three children.

A beloved Mother who always put her children first in everything she did. She was a wonderful cook and loved to sew. She was known for her beautiful smile and friendly demeanor to all those fortunate enough to have known her.

She was preceded in death by her husband William “Bill” Henigan, brothers Claude S. Sain and Willie J. Sain. She is survived by her brother John M. Sain Sr. of Williamsburg and her three children: James “Jim” McColskey of Newport News, David McColskey (Kathy) of Broomfield, CO, and Pamela Addison of Cherry Hill, NJ. Also surviving are her grandchildren Joe McColskey, Ballard, WA, Tom McColskey, Westminster, CO, Sheri Barton, Arvada, CO and Viola Allen, Hampton, VA. Six great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews also survive her.

She was a member of West Hampton Baptist Church in Hampton for 70 years and attended Chestnut Memorial United Methodist Church in Newport News.

A viewing will be held Monday, April 6, 2015 from 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm at Parklawn-Wood Funeral Home, 2551 N. Armistead Ave., Hampton. A graveside service will be held at Parklawn Memorial Park on Tuesday, April 7 at 11:00 am.
