Mona was born in Mississippi in 1928, and lived a life rooted in family and hard work.
In 1960 Mona and her husband, Eddie, opened Eddie Bowen's Body Shop, building a business that would become a cornerstone of their livelihood and legacy. As the years passed, the family expanded their work into used automobile sales, later known as Eddie Bowen's Used Cars, now Pay Here Used Cars. Mona's dedication and support were instrumental in the success of these family ventures.
Beyond her work Mona found joy in crocheting, sewing and cooking.
Mona was predeceased in death by her beloved husband Eddie and her son-in-law, Lee.
She is survived by her daughters Linda and Jackie, and Jackie's husband Roger; 6 grandchildren;13 great-grandchildren and multiple great great-grandchildren.
A graveside service will be held at Parklawn Memorial Park located at 2551 N. Armistead Ave, Hampton VA 23666, on Saturday January 17, 2026 at 11:00 AM.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
