

She retired from the Hampton school system as a bus driver after a career spanning over thirty years. She was a member of the Northampton Women’s Club. For sixteen years she was an owner and operator, with her husband, of the Rendezvous Restaurant located on Kecoughtan Road in Hampton.
Preceding her in rest are her parents, Vada and Alma Rose and sister, Joyce Boone. Surviving members of her family include her husband of 61 years, Archie G. Parker, Sr.; children, Terry Parker and fiancé Rita of Pasco, WA, Sharon Poole of Hampton, Glen Parker and wife Sally of Poquoson, and Brian Parker of Hampton; eight grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; brother, Lee Rose of Hampton; sisters, Carolyn Leek of Pasadena, MD, and Janice Bentley of New Kent; and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 7:00 pm on Monday, September 9, 2013 at Parklawn-Wood Funeral Home. Following the visitation, a service celebrating Nelda's life will be held at 7:00 pm in the funeral home chapel with Pastor Glen Jones presiding.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Humane Society or to the Alzheimer's Association.
