Norma retired in 2014 after 32 years from Huntington Ingalls where she served as a shipyard welder. She was a hardworking, independent, strong woman who loved cooking, traveling to Topsail, and gardening. She was known for taking great pride in all she did.
Norma was preceded in rest by her parents, William and Frances Scott and a sister, Loretta Bender. She is survived by her best friend and companion of 17 years, Garry Gibson of Hampton; two daughters, Sherry Simpson (Chris Pauls) of York County and Rhonda Simpson (Troy Turpen) of Newport News; three grandchildren, Brittany Skon (Tyler) of York County, Julia Robillard of Newport News, and Natalie Pauls of York County.
A celebration of Norma’s life will be held at 12:00 pm on Wednesday, November 30, at the graveside at Parklawn Memorial Park in Hampton.
