On Wednesday August 18, 2021 heaven gained the most precious angel. My mom , Ok Yong Coleman, was one of the strongest women you could have ever met. She raised me throughout my father's military career, and always made me feel loved. She was born June 15, 1950, in Korea, and moved to the States when I was two in 1986. She lived for her family, and had a strong relationship with the Lord. One thing she always told me growing up was "James, you are my everything", in which I would reply "No mom, you are my everything". She loved to fish, and maintain her garden. The happiness she would get from reeling in her line was the best! Her grand children always put a smile of her face. My mom was the rock of our family, there was nothing she wouldn't do for us. Her spirit will forever live through us, and the wonderful memories she left us.
She leaves her son, James Coleman; his wife Amanda Clark; her two grandchildren, James Coleman Jr. and Aleah Coleman; all of Hampton, Va.; as well as her two sisters, Ok Sun and husband Dennis Hornback of Louisville, KY, and Seo Ok Young of Korea.
She is preceded in death by her father Seo Pong Chun; mother Chong Sun Im; many siblings; and her husband of almost 40 years, Richard Coleman. A private service will be held by the family at Parklawn Memorial Park.
1 Thessalonians 4:17-18
17: After that, we who are still alive and are left will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And so we will be with the Lord forever. 18: Therefore encourage one another with these words.
Until we meet again, our love for you will never end. We love you Mom.
