Patricia Odell Bezjak left this earthly realm on February 17th, 2025, at the age of 70. A proud breast cancer survivor who had been in remission for over five years, Patricia faced yet another diagnosis of cancer, a battle she never stopped fighting. It would be wrong to say that Patricia lost her battle, for she never gave up. No matter how sick she was, she remained determined, resolute, and filled with a quiet strength. A dear friend once said that Pat was always the sickest person in the room, and yet, you would never know it. She carried herself with grace and courage, and through her example, we learned that resilience in the face of adversity is a choice, and perseverance is the light that guides us through the darkest times.
Patricia did not know how to quit. Her fight did not end with her passing; instead, she is now busy straightening the crowns of others who need her, guiding and loving us from beyond.
“Let no debt remain outstanding, except the continuing debt to love another, for whoever loves others has fulfilled the law.”
Patricia’s life was a testament to this truth. She was put on this earth to help others, and she spent every moment doing so. Her love was a force—whole, generous, and unwavering. She touched countless lives, and her memory will live on in the hearts of those she left behind. We’ll feel her presence in every star, every twinkle, every ray of sunshine. We take comfort in knowing that she continues to love and guide us, even now, from the other side.
Patricia is survived by her daughter, Yvonne Brown, and her two granddaughters. She is also survived by her life partner, John Perry Jr., and his children, as well as his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. “Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you, let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.”
Patricia’s love and legacy will forever be etched in the lives of all who knew her.
“My beloved spoke and said to me, ‘Arise, my darling, my beautiful one, come with me.’” And so she did.
A visitation will be held on Saturday April 12, 2025 at 12:00 PM at Parklawn Wood Funeral Home located at 2551 N. Armistead Ave, Hampton VA 23666, followed immediately by a service at 1:00 PM
