July 23, 1952-June 19, 2013
Patricia Ann Gaskins Daniels (Pat), 60, earned her heavenly wings on Wednesday, June 19, 2013.
She was born on July 23, 1952 in Hertford County, North Carolina to Lillie P. Gaskins and Roy Atlas Gaskins (predeceased). She attended North Carolina public schools.
She leaves to cherish memories her husband Toussaint Daniels, Jr. of 34 years and two sons, Nigel Demond Daniels of Newport News, VA and Toussaint Javor Daniels of the home, step-daughter, Terrica Johnson, and step-grandchildren, Nia and Isaiah all of Newport News, VA. She leaves behind her mother, Lillie P. Gaskins of Hampton, VA, and her Uncle Herman Eugene Perry of Newport News, VA. She leaves one sister, Barbara Daniels (Asa) of Clinton, MD, two brothers, Anthony Randolph Gaskins (Ruby) of Fort Washington, MD, and Atlas L. Gaskins of Roanoke, VA. She leaves a niece that she raised as her daughter, Angela G. White and special cousins Pamthea Perry and Delzora Ward as well as her helpful and beloved niece Lekeshia Gaskins. She also leaves a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and in laws.
She was employed by Bryant and King Contractors for 19 years and then with the City of Newport News in the Public Works Department where she worked until her health did not allow her to do so anymore. She was a member of Ebenezer Baptist Church of Hampton, VA.
She enjoyed interacting with people and always had a pleasant answer and a kind word for all that she met. She will be remembered for her vast knowledge of almost everything and her willingness to always assist. If something was wrong she would do her best to fix it with a patient hand and a sincere smile. She was full of compliments and jokes that were always given with a gleam in her eyes and a chuckle in her voice. Simply put she was kind and giving person, and a true gift from God. We thank him for the loan that he sent us and now has called her back home where she belongs.
2Timothy 4:7-8
I fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. Finally, there is laid up for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will give to me on that Day, and not to me only but also to all who have loved His appearing.
