He was born in Hauppaugh, New York to John & Elizabeth (Long) Fazio. After graduating from Smithtown High School, Long Island, NY, he attended Delhi Technical College, Delhi, NY, then had an outstanding 20 year career with the United States Air Force. After his retirement, he embarked on a second career in information technology spending 19 years with UPS in Newport News, VA.
A lifelong sports fan, he particularly followed Syracuse University basketball and most passionately, the New York Yankees. His collection of Yankee memorabilia was one of his most prized possessions. For over 20 years, bowling was his personal sport which he enjoyed most recently Monday afternoons at Century Lanes and Friday nights at Sparetimes Bowling Center.
His greatest pleasure in retirement was having more time to spend with and enjoy camaraderie of a broad circle of lifelong friends.
In addition to Patty, his wife of 46 years, he is survived by his brothers, Leo and Burt of Montana. He was the “Fun Uncle “ to 17 nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm on Saturday, January 22, 2022 at Parklawn-Wood Funeral Home, 2551 Armistead Ave., Hampton, VA 23666.
