Pauline was born in Waverly, Virginia, on July 17, 1924. Her family later moved to Newport News (Warwick County) and she graduated from Morrison High School in 1942. During World War II, she worked at the Newport News Shipyard and as a telephone exchange operator.
Pauline met "Buddy," her handsome GI, and married him on Valentine's Day, 1947. They had 63 years and two children together.
Pauline loved her family, loved Jesus, and loved all of God's creatures. She loved to bowl with friends. There was nothing she enjoyed more than a good practical joke, especially those involving firecrackers.
Pauline was preceded in death by her parents, Iris A. and Gladys D. O'Neal; sister, Barbara A. O'Neal; and loving husband, Lemuel E. "Buddy" Forrest, Jr.
Left behind to mourn are daughter and son-in-law, Wanda and Carlton Carter; son and daughter-in-law, Gary and Martha Forrest; sister, Estelle O. Keith; niece, Phyllis Fritschi; nephews, Brad and Dale Goodman; four granddaughters and five great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Peninsula SPCA, 523 J. Clyde Morris Blvd., Newport News, 23601.
