

Philip Morgan Baker, age 67, passed away on Saturday, January 22, 2011. He was a native of Pulaski, VA and a resident of Hampton for the past 37 years. He was currently employed by Jacobs/Rome Group at NASA. He had been a member of IBEW 1340. For almost 18 years, he was a member of Carpenters Local 396 and 613 where he held positions as Vice President, Steward, and various other positions. He also helped start the Carpenters Local 396 Credit Union.
Philip is preceded in death by his wife of 46 years, Carlotta Baker and parents John and Pauline Baker. He is survived by his daughters, Marshallia Riley and Stacia Rawls of Hampton; six grandchildren, SPC J. Brad Riley of Savannah, GA , Bridgette Riley, Megan Rawls, Casey Riley, Katelyn Rawls and Tyler Rawls all of Hampton; sisters, JoAnn Harris (Roy) of Dublin, VA, Nancy Warden (Mitchell) of Pulaski, VA, Bonnie Ford (Rocky) of Ravenswood, WV, and Frances Cates (John) of Russellville, KY; and all of his extended family, friends and neighbors.
The family will receive friends Wednesday evening, Jan. 26, 2011 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Parklawn – Wood Funeral Home. A service celebration Philip’s life will be held Thursday, Jan. 27, at 12:00 p.m. at Parklawn - Wood Funeral Home with Rev. Chris Gill presiding. Interment will follow in Parklawn Memorial Park.
