Phillip Tan Nguyen

Phillip Tan Nguyen, beloved husband and father, passed away on Saturday, November 6, 2021, in his home in Hampton, Virginia. He is survived by his wife of 51 years and his two daughters, and loved by many friends and family in the United States and in Vietnam.

Phillip was born on March 2, 1945 in An Giang, Long Xuyen, South Vietnam. He was a high school teacher in Vietnamese literature before emigrating to the United States in 1975. Phillip was a long-time resident of Hampton, Virginia, where he earned an Associates Degree in Architecture, and then operated his own restaurant for over 10 years. Phillip enjoyed reading, traveling to Vietnam, and giving to those less fortunate in Vietnam. He will be remembered as a kind and deeply committed husband, father and grandfather.

A visitation for Phillip will be held Tuesday, November 23, 2021 from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM at Parklawn-Wood Funeral Home, 2551 N. Armistead Ave, Hampton, Virginia 23666, followed by a funeral service at 6:00 PM.

In lieu of flowers, gifts, and donations, the family requests that you simply remember Phillip and his commitment to those less fortunate.
