She was born in Charleston, South Carolina on September 26, 1945 to the late Robert and Ethel Brown. A former military spouse, she called Newport News home for more than thirty years. She retired from The Chesapeake Retirement Home as a Dietician’s Aide after many years of service.
She is survived by her three children, four grandchildren, four siblings, and several nieces and nephews.
A wake will be held at Parklawn-Wood Funeral Home in Hampton on Friday, September 30, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. The funeral will be held at World Outreach Worship Center in Newport News on Saturday, October 1, at 1:00 pm with entombment to follow at Parklawn Memorial Park.
