Robert Carlos Belton, 59, passed away on July 18, 2018. He was born in Aberdeen Proving Ground, Maryland to Vaughn and Jacinta Belton. Robert was a resident of Hampton for most of his life. After high school he enlisted in the U.S. Army where he served his country for four years as a wheel vehicle mechanic. After his service he went on to work at Exxon Corp and then the Nissan Corp as an automotive technician. Robert loved to keep busy working on cars and would always help anyone who was stranded on the side of the road. Robert never knew a stranger. When he met you, you were his friend. He was a kind, caring, and a good hearted soul.
Robert was preceded in death by his father, Vaughn Belton, Sr. and brother, Ricardo Mike Belton. He is survived by his mother, Jacinta Belton; son, Byron Belton; brothers, Lee, Vaughn Jr., Vernon Belton, Keith McCarthy, and Bob Dubois; sisters, Nora Wright, Katie McCarthy, and Vivian Dubois; and a host of nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 pm on Sunday, July 22, 2018 at Parklawn-Wood Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 am on Monday, July 23, 2018 in the funeral home chapel. Burial will follow at Hampton-Veterans Memorial Gardens, 155 Butler Farm Road, in Hampton,
