
Robert was born in Ashland, Kentucky, in 1965 to Robert Bradley Sr and Kay Bradley. From a young age, he stood out with his talent, humor, and kindness. At thirteen, he won the Ohio State Racquetball Tournament, a reflection of his drive and determination. After graduating from Paul G Blazer high school, Robert went on to Christopher Newport University, where he earned degrees in Psychology and Business Management. During his time there, he was proud to be elected Sage of his fraternity a role that reflected his natural leadership. He later obtained his Master’s degree in social work from Norfolk State University and became a Licensed Clinical Social Worker.
His passion was helping people it was truly his life’s work. Over the course of his career, he ran a drug rehabilitation clinic,operated a free clinic, and served as a counselor to military service members and their families at Ft Eustis. Through each of these roles, he gave hope, understanding, and a sense of dignity to those who needed it most.
Beyond his professional life, Robert was also a gifted poet who poured his heart into his writing. Over the years, he published more than thirty books of poetry, each one filled with emotion, empathy, and reflections on the human experience.
He was the kind of person who always showed up with a helping hand, a listening ear, or a good laugh when you needed it most. Above all, he was a devoted father, papaw, and son. Family meant everything to him, and his love will continue to live on in each of them.
He was preceded in death by his father, Robert Bradley Sr. He leaves behind his son, Robert “Trae” Bradley III; his grandson, Robert “Dru” Bradley IV; his daughter-in-law, Jay Bradley; his mother, Kay Bradley; his sister, Victoria Dwyer; nephews, Vincent and Zack; and his grandniece and grandnephew, Reece and Chance.
A celebration of life will be held on November 29th at the Warwick Moose Lodge at 12:00 the lodge is located at 1711 Warwick Moose ln, Newport News, VA 23606. Family and friends are invited to share stories, laughter, and memories of a man who will be deeply missed but never forgotten.
