"Bob" was born August 5, 1944 in Columbus, Georgia to the late Elizabeth "Betty" Thweatt and A.C. Powers, who both preceded him in death. Also preceding him in death was his younger brother, Stephen Tully.
He completed his education at the University of Maryland and CNU, worked as an Accountant many years and was well known for his knowledge of history and love of life and others.
He was a veteran of the United States Army, serving from '67 to '73 and was a purple heart recipient from the Vietnam War where he worked radio correspondence.
Bob married and divorced twice, first to Patricia (Pat) and had two sons, Michael and David. He later married Jacqueline (Jackie) and had two daughters, Elizabeth and Anne. He is survived by his sons and daughters, as well as numerous grandchildren, along with beloved cousin, Marsha Thweatt Black.
