Roy Rodney Davis

Roy Rodney Davis, age 75, of Gloucester, Virginia passed away on Wednesday, September 15, 2021. Roy was born September 20, 1945 in Montgomery Co. Christiansburg, VA. Roy served in U. S. Navy during Vietnam War. He attended Dental School and he graduated from Art School and was a successful artist. He painted for Art Galleries and one of the galleries was in Manteo, NC. Some of his paintings were purchased by Andy Griffith. Roy also had a love for music and enjoyed playing his harmonica. He enjoyed another talent in making and decorating cakes for special occasions especially weddings. Roy is preceded in death by his mother Nannie B. Davis Wingo and sister Phyllis Kirkpatrick. Left to cherish his memory is his beloved wife Betty Davis; stepson Willard "Tommy" Thomas and a dear close friend Fred Trunick. Our dear Bro. Roy Davis walked out of his earthly body on Wednesday September 15th and walked right into the Presence of His Saviour... He is now face to face with the One he loved the most. Roy was a tremendous part of Churches United Together Ministries family, he was not afraid to get his hands dirty and always willing to do whatever to help build the Kingdom of God. His artistic talent was extraordinary, signs and logo for Churches United Together Ministries were designed by him. We always knew we could count on Roy for his creative ideas, input, AND HIS AMAZING DISHES HE PREPARED FOR US. We rejoice because we can imagine the excitement and joy that Roy is experiencing right now. The family will receive friends from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. on Monday September 20, 2021 at Parklawn-Wood Funeral Home 2551 N. Armistead Ave Hampton, VA 23666. The funeral service will immediately follow. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be offered to Churches United Together (C.U.T.) 3300 King William Ave West Point, VA 23181.
