Ruby, a native of Caretta, W. Va. and a local resident for 57 years, retired from Asheville Mica Company in Newport News, Va.
She was a member of Colonial Baptist Church, Williamsburg, and a past member of the Victory Baptist Church, Hampton.
Ruby was predeceased by her husband, Carl Bolen and an infant son, Kirby Jean Bolen. She is survived by three sons, David L. Bolen (Sandy) of Chesapeake, Franklin A. Bolen (Alice) of Lanexa, Bernard D. Bolen of Gloucester; six grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; four sisters, Hazel Dunford, Alpha Taylor, Opal Barrineau, and Dorsie Weakland.
The family will receive friends from 10:00 to 11:00 AM on Thursday, July 21, 2016 at Parklawn-Wood Funeral Home with a celebration of Ruby’s life to follow at 11:00 AM at the funeral home. Interment in Parklawn Memorial Park.
