She was born on March 20, 1921 in the Philippines and immigrated to America in 1984 with her husband David, who preceded her in death in 1988. She studied hard to prepare for her citizenship and was proud to become an American citizen in 2004. Salvacion was a talented seamstress who enjoyed being with her extended family, cooking and gardening. She was always reading newspapers and magazines, and playing word games to improve her English.
Salvacion is survived by six daughters, Virgin Jayme of Tabao, Philippines; Evelyn Covey of Madison, Al; Helen Gayotin of Yorktown, VA; Rosalinda Beggs of Yorktown, VA; Melva Lagollier of Newport News, VA; and Teresita Smith of Gulf Breeze, FL; and two sons, Wilfredo Gayotin of Tabao, Philippines and Ramonito Gayotin of Yorktown, VA. She is also survived by 14 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren, and 7 great- great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Sunday, July 12, 2020 at Parklawn-Wood Funeral Home, 2551 N. Armistead Ave., Hampton, VA, followed by inurnment at Parklawn-Wood Memorial Park.
