Salvatore Floyd Mauro

Salvatore was in the U.S. Air Force and retired as a CMSgt. He then worked for a civil service contractor as a procurement analyst at Langley Air Force Base. He retired in 1990 after 44 years of service. He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars.

Salvatore is preceded in rest by his wife of over 55 years, Sylvia Mauro; parents, Ralph and Veronica Mauro. He is survived by his daughters, Gigi Braxton, Marlene Mauro, and Debbie L. Mauro; grandchildren, Michael J. Braxton, Celena B. Osborne, and Charles A. Mauro; great-grandchildren, Tajaun, Amera, Alyssa, and Moureen; and a host of extended family members.

The family will receive friends on Sunday, March 13, 2016 from 12:00 pm until 1:45 pm at Parklawn-Wood Funeral Home. A procession from the funeral home to a graveside service at Hampton-Veterans Memorial Gardens, with full military honors, will take place at 2:00 PM.
