Sarah Grella Dixon

Born on September 1, 1923, Sarah, was an avid gardener and she never met a plant that she couldn't grow. From cooking amazingly delicious southern food to shopping and staying apprised of the latest fashions in retail, Sarah loved life.

She was an amazing mother to her son, Vince and his wife, Kathleen. She was also mom to two furry friends, two dogs, No No and Cheeto, she loved her dogs. She was a member of Healing Waters Worship Center in Carrollton, Virginia.

She was preceded in death by four sisters and her husband, Dawson Dixon, Sr.

Sarah is survived by Vince G. Grella, II and his wife, Kathleen and a host of family and friends.

Vince and Kathleen wish to thank Marty Lidberg and Steve Pitts for providing excellent care for Sarah and being an amazing blessing.

The family will receive friends 7:00 pm to 8:30 pm, Friday, June 23, 2017 and 2:00 pm to 2:30 pm, Saturday, June 24, 2017 at Parklawn-Wood Funeral Home. A celebration of Sarah's life will begin at 2:30 pm on Saturday in the funeral home followed by committal service in Parklawn Memorial Park.
