Susan was a proud Gigi, mother, and devoted wife. She was known for her kind heart, generous spirit, and loving nature. She is survived by her husband Jerry of 51 years, sister Ellen Lawson (Chip), daughter Sydney Kurtyka (Mark), daughter Stacy Reaves, granddaughter Logan Reaves, and grandsons Noah and Nicholas Kurtyka. Susan was preceded in death by her parents Leonard and Herma Barber.
Susan was co-owner and operator of Charlie's Jewelry where she worked tirelessly for many years. Her dedication and hard work helped make the business a success, and she was respected and admired by her colleagues and customers alike.
The family will receive friends 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM, Saturday, April 29, 2023 at Parklawn-Wood Funeral Home followed by a celebration of life at 2:00 PM in the funeral home, 2551 North Armistead Avenue in Hampton, Virginia.
