Robert Sturgis Simpson, 85, peacefully passed away at his home with loved ones by his side on July 24, 2013. He was a veteran of the Korean War and spent his last years doing what he loved best as a salesman with Shawels Appliance. Susan Acker Simpson, 79, peacefully passed away with her children by her side on July 11, 2013. Voted Miss Moorefield, West Virginia, in 1952 she was a devoted mother and homemaker who enjoyed reading, music, the arts, and loved her family and dogs dearly.
They are survived by their children, Robin, Bruce and Carol Simpson; and grandson, Sterling A. Schaffer.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, August 2, 2013, at Parklawn-Wood Funeral Home in Hampton.
In lieu of flowers, please make contributions to the SPCA, WHRO-TV, the American Cancer Society or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
