Teresa Baines

Teresa Baines, 89, of Hampton Virginia, went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on June 18, 2026. She was born on January 13, 1937 in Morocco North Africa, to the late John Ramirez and Halima Rodriguez.

Teresa married the love of her life Charles Baines on October 18, 1961, and they were happily married for 56 years. Teresa had one of the most important jobs there is, and that was being a homemaker to her husband and four children. She also was a daycare for so many other children over the years.

When Teresa wasn’t spending time with her family, she loved to knit crochet, embroider, and cook her family her favorite native dishes, including cous cous and paella. She was fluent in 6 languages, and loved upholding her Moroccan traditions and values throughout her life. Teresa was also a member of the St. Rosa Lima Church in Hampton and the St. Vincent Church in Newport News, and loved attending Sunday services.

She is predeceased in death by her parents, love of her life Charles, her grandson Frank William Baines, and siblings Delores, Anita, and Pepe.

She leaves behind to cherish her beautiful memory, Frank Baines (Lee), Anna Baines (Larry), Kathy Baines, Charlene Baines (Andrew), and goddaughter Dr. Linda Scott Stone (Leander) She also leaves behind a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren and nieces and nephews.

Teresa will be remembered as a devoted wife, loving mother, cherished grandmother, and treasured great grandmother. She will also be remembered by her gentle spirit and ability to make everyone feel welcomed and loved…to her no one was a stranger.

A visitation will take place on Monday June 29, 2026 at Parklawn Wood Funeral Home from 10:30 AM – 11:30 AM at Parklawn Wood Funeral Home, located at 2551 N. Armistead Ave, Hampton VA 23666, A celebration of life will follow immediately at 11:30, and a committal service, at Hampton Memorial Gardens, located at 155 Butler Farm Road, Hampton VA, 23666.
