Tommy was born on September 1, 1972, in Hampton. Virginia to Beth Weidlein and Craig Staton, and later gained a devoted stepfather, Glenn Weidlein. He graduated from Kecoughtan High School, class of 1991, in Hampton, Virginia.
Tommy was a man of extraordinary kindness and generosity, known for his heart of gold and his unique ability to make everyone feel as though they were his very best friend. As the owner of Time Pawn & Surplus, he took great pride in his work and in the meaningful connections he built with others.
He enjoyed playing cornhole, was an avid Tar Heel fan, and had a deep passion for baseball. He played throughout high school and especially loved traveling across the United States to visit baseball fields, attend spring training games, and experience the Little League World Series on several occasions. Tommy’s love language was cooking and feeding others—he could prepare meals big enough to feed an army and often shared that gift by feeding the homeless during the holidays.
Tommy was a devoted husband, son, brother, and father and was survived by his loving wife, Rosa Staton; his parents, Beth & Glenn Weidlein and Craig Staton; his sister, Amy Scherrer; his children, Ashtin Staton (expecting mother), Nicholas Chrismon, Samuel Chrismon and wife Yulia Chrismon; his beloved grandchildren Alanah, Victoria, Kira, and soon to be grandson, Wyatt; and bulldogs Teezer and Watson.
