Vernita is preceded in rest by her husband, Paris Aiken III; her son, Paris Aiken IV; parents Evelyn and Louis Leggett; and her brothers Michael Leggett and Stuart Taylor.
She leaves behind to cherish her memory two daughters, Alicia Mrdutt (James Jr.) and Victoria Johnson (Joshua Sr.); four grandchildren, Faith and Andrew Mrdutt, T.J. Szafraniec, and Joshua Johnson Jr.; a brother, Ted Leggett; and two sisters, Arleen Meade and Ruth Leggett.
A service will be held on Thursday, May 30th, 2019 at 11am at the Parklawn Memorial Park Mausoleum Chapel, 2551 North Armistead Ave, Hampton, VA 23666.
