Walter Bernard Campbell, Jr “Bud” of Newport News, VA passed away at home on Saturday November 20, 2021.

Bud was born in Silva, North Carolina to Walter Bernard Campbell, Sr. and Reta Ida Crawford. Bud retired from the Newport News shipbuilding after 46 years of dedicated service and was a long standing member of Liberty Baptist Church in Hampton, VA.

Bud was a loving husband, father, grandfather brother, and dear friend to many. He was preceded in death by his parents and survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Barbara Morris Campbell; son, Michael Bernard Campbell (Marsha); daughter, Sherry Campbell Jeffries (Jimmy); and sister, Judy Campbell Martin; grandchildren, Devin Bernard Campbell, Christopher Michael Campbell, James Otis Jeffries, Jr., and Jared Bernard Jeffries; and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.

The family would like to give a special thank you to Transitions Healthcare for the love and compassion they showed to our family. In addition, the family would also like to thank beloved friend, Judy Lucas, and countless other friends and family for their steadfast support in recent years.

The family will receive friends 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM, Friday, November 26, 2021 at Parklawn-Wood Funeral Home, 2551 N. Armistead Ave, Hampton Va followed by a Celebration of "Bud's" life beginning at 1:00 PM. Interment at Parklawn Memorial Park.
