

He began his career with NACA which later became NASA, and retired in the late 1980’s after 37 years of service. Hobbies and interests included fishing and working in his vegetable garden.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and served during WWII. His spirit of humor was shared freely with all who knew him. One of his great enjoyments was being in the outer banks of North Carolina in Nags Head.
Preceding him in rest was his wife, Edith Dale and parents. Surviving members of his family include his daughters, Cynthia Dibble and Sharon Mears; and grandsons, Jared Dale and Ethan Mears.
The family will receive friends Saturday, February 25, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., at Parklawn-Wood Funeral Home. Following the visitation services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Interment will be in Parklawn Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 11835 Canon Blvd, Suite A102, Newport News, VA 23606.
