Walter "Doug" Douglas Schmidt

Doug was a native of Roanoke, Virginia. He spent 32 years working in vehicle services for the City of Newport News. One of Doug's greatest hobbies was spending time doing yard work and dedicated time making his lawn look nice.

Doug is preceded in death by his father and mother, Harold George Schmidt and Virginia Kemp Schmidt. He is survived by his loving wife of 27 years, Deborah Schmidt; his step-son, Jason Jackson; his sister, Debbie Schmidt Hughes (Charles); his niece, Aimee Elswick (David); his nephews, Joey and Preston Elswick; his niece, Jennifer Hughes Bartlome (Chris); and his nephew, Zayne Bartlome.
