He was born in Pennsylvania and was a resident of Hampton for 30 years.
He served in the Navy for 22 years. He earned the rank of Hospital Corpsman Petty Officer 1st Class (Retired). He earned many accommodations while he was in service.
Wayne is preceded in rest by his parents, Benedict Harkins (Irmgard); brothers, Charles and Benedict; and wife, Lorraine.
He is survived by his three sons, Christopher Harkins (Donna), James Harkins and Timothy Harkins and granddaughter, MaKayla Harkins.
There will be a visitation from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM, Saturday, May 22, 2021 at Parklawn Wood Funeral Home. A Celebration of Life will begin at 2:00 PM at the funeral home with interment to follow at Parklawn Memorial Park.
