William Davis

William Kearney Davis born June 23, 1948 in Louisburg, North Carolina transitioned from this earthly life on January 17, 2021 at his residence in Hampton, Virginia when God opened His loving arms and gently called him to eternal rest. He was predeceased by his father, Kearney Davis; brother, Howard Davis; and sister, Selinda Davis. At an early age, he was baptized and became a member of Nelson Baptist Church in Louisburg, North Carolina. Reared on a farm in North Carolina, after graduating from Riverside High in 1967, William moved to Hampton, Virginia. He was employed as a contracted painter for many years. Survivors are his daughters, Sherri Davis of Louisburg, NC, Mary Ellen Davis of Rockford, IL, Rochelle Pugh Bradley (JB) of Hampton, VA, and Taryn Kennard of Decatur, GA; one son, Christopher Grier of Hampton, VA; seven grandchildren; mother, Lucy Anderson Davis of the home; sister, Modestine Davis of Hampton, VA; three brothers, Haywood Davis (Patricia) of Newport News, VA, Douglas Davis (Chira) of Annapolis, MD, and Alonzo Davis of Las Vegas, NV; three aunts, Alberta Davis of Louisburg, NC, Alice Harris of Spring Hope, NC, and Hannah Watkins of Upper Marlboro, MD; several special nieces, nephews, and a host of special cousins & friends; childhood and best friend Leonard Williams of Wake Forest, NC. A memorial will be held on Saturday, January 30, 2021 at Miracle Temple Baptist Church located at 617 32nd Street Newport News, Virginia at noon.
