Fargis family, I was so saddened to hear of Amos's passing.  My husband Gene and I used to bowl with him and Colleen.  I am so very sorry for your loss.  Amos was a very sweet man, always there for a hug and a joke, and was such fun to bowl AGAINST, as he was so good natured.  May God make your sadness just a little bit better knowing how wonderful a person Amos was.  God bless.

Amos was one of my earliest mentors. A man devoted to God, family and country - truly a man's man. Just   too many great memories to note here, suffice to say " I loved the guy for what he was and what he represented". My condolences to the Family .... I will miss him greatly ....

I have such fond memories of Amos.  When I was a kid, he would pick at me, making me feel special.  He was always pleasant, with a ready smile and quick to laugh.  He was a special cousin.  A funny story.....the last time I talked with him on the phone, initially someone was trying to help him with his phone.  He told them, "I've been using a phone for years", then the phone went dead and I had to call back.

You may not remember me and my family but I sure remember all of you.  Mr Amos looks the same in his picture and I would have known him if we had met up again after all these years.  Your mother and father were  like second parents to the Gwaltney kids and they were the best.  May peace which comes from the memories of love shared, comfort you now and in the days to come. It was a true honor to know Amos and spend time with him. To hear the stories he told, to drink morning coffee as he gave Lucky her treats, to simply joke around with him.
