

Major William “Bill” Przytula (USAF Ret.) 78, passed away unexpectedly at his home on November 13, 2023. He was a native of Brocton, New York, but had settled in Hampton, Virginia for more than 44 years.
William retired from the United States Air Force after 24 years of service to his country, and he went on to retire from Huntington Ingalls Industries after 17 years. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Buckroe, Virginia, Knights of Columbus Council #511 where he was a fourth degree Knight, the Lions Club, and many other charitable organizations.
Bill, as many of his family and friends knew him, was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and uncle. He was a gentle, kind, loving, and generous person. He volunteered his time and support for many local organizations. He enjoyed tinkering with computers, fishing, reading, and shopping at the Dollar Tree. He loved spending time with his grandchildren any chance he got.
He was a devout husband and selfless caregiver to his wife, Ellen. He always put her needs first and treated her with the utmost respect—never wavering.
William was preceded in death by his parents, Peter and Annette Przytula.
He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Ellen Przytula; his son, Michael (Julie); daughter, Michele (Heath); grandchildren: Austin, Tucker, Wyatt, Bryant, and Brayden; brother, Steve; and nephew, Matt.
A Catholic Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, November 20, 2023 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 512 Buckroe Avenue Hampton, VA 23664, followed by a rendering of military honors. The Mass will be officiated by Father Dillon Bruce, with the assistance of Deacon David Reaves, and a live stream of the service can be found on the church’s website. Arrangements are by Parklawn-Wood Funeral Home, 2551 North Armistead Avenue Hampton, VA 23666.
Flowers are appreciated, but in lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the USO in honor of Bill.
