Yon Hi Conley

Yon was born on September 4, 1925 in Seoul, South Korea. After an adventurous childhood and career, Yon met her husband, Harry Conley, in South Korea while serving in the Army. In 1959 they married, started a family, and moved to Hampton, Virginia where they bought their forever home.

Yon was a devoted daughter, wife, mother, sibling, grandmother, great-grandmother, and a cherished member of the community. Yon’s life was characterized by a passion for her church, reading the Bible, gardening, and spending time with her family and friends. She especially loved cooking; sharing her love of Korean food and her spin on American cuisine. Yon was very well known for her warmth, wisdom, and sense of humor. She was a beautiful soul who loved her family and generously shared the love of our Lord and her unwavering spirit with everyone she met.

She was our storyteller, weaving the past into our lives so we could carry it forward, leaving a lasting legacy to all that knew her on this earth. Her legacy isn't just in the memories—it's in the way we continue to live in her memory. She will now begin her eternal life with Our Father in heaven.

Yon is survived by her son, William J. Conley, grandchildren, Jennifer Daugs, Bill Conley, Rachael Adams (Josh), Erika Flinn (Shane), Heather Conley, Claudia Conley, and Harry Conley, and great grandchildren, Joseph Watson, Jordan Watson, and Jace Adams. She was preceded in death by her husband, Harry W. Conley, daughter, Wendy L. Daugs, and son, George E. Conley.

A funeral service will be held at Calvary Assembly of God, 1380 N Mallory St, Hampton, VA 23663 on October 3, 2025 at 12:00 PM.Yon will be laid to rest in an entombment ceremony at Hampton Memorial Gardens, 155 Butler Farm Rd, Hampton, VA 23666 at 2:00 PM on Friday, October 3, 2025. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Teen Challenge program in Yon’s honor.
