Alvin James Hall

Alvin James Hall (Al Hall) was born March 23, 1950, to Irvin and Marjorie Hall in San Bernardino, California, where he graduated from San Bernardino High School in 1968. Al passed away at 76 in Seattle, WA, on July 20, 2026.

Al served in the Navy during the Vietnam War (1969-73). He was a flight simulator instructor at Lemoore Naval Air Station (LNAS) (1970-73) when he moved to Hanford, CA. Al continued his career as a civilian with the Navy as a Computer Engineer designing and installing flight simulators (1974-93); the LNAS Computer Department Director, where he installed their first internet connection (1993-98); and the Naval Training Systems Command West Coast Regional Manager for flight simulators (1998-2010). He also graduated from California State University, Fresno with degrees in Computer Science from the Engineering Department and in Business Administration. Al retired in 2010 after serving our country for 40 years.

Al met Maria (Rocha) Hall in 1980. They married in 1983 and enjoyed 45 years together. Al enjoyed riding his Harley, Corvette, boat, motorhome, and bicycle/tandem (a triple century and 18 double centuries). He also traveled on 55 cruises. Al lived life to its fullest and enjoyed learning new things and helping others.

Al and Maria moved to Seattle, WA in 2016. Al served as Board President for the Spinnaker Bay Condo Association on Lake Washington for over 4 years, including overseeing the completion of numerous major projects.

Al was preceded in death by his father, Irvin Hall; mother, Marjorie Hall; sister, Lynnette Stewart; father/mother in-laws, Joseph and Eva Rocha; and brother-in-law, Tom Holmes. Al is survived by his wife Maria; brother/sister in-laws Joseph Rocha, Mario Rocha, Andre & Jane Rocha, and Kevin & Jeannie Rocha; and nephew/Godson Tyler Rocha.

Al’s services will be August 18, 2026, at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church, Hanford, CA, with Rosary at 11:00 AM and Memorial Mass at 11:30 AM.

For the last 4 months, Al courageously battled Non-Hodgkin’s B-Cell Fast-Growing Lymphoma, which ended his life. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to Blood Cancer United (givenow.bloodcancerunited.org) in memory of Al.
