Anita Joan Rider

Anita graduated from Kirksville High School in 1960 and continued her education at Missouri Baptist Nursing School, graduating with a degree in Nursing as a Registered Nurse in 1963. Shortly thereafter, she moved out to California to join her sister Joyce Mulford (Smyers) and established her home in Hanford, CA. There she married Harold Dean Rider in 1965 and had three children, Jeffrey, David, and Cynthia.

Anita had a career in Nursing for over thirty years working in numerous hospitals and convalescent facilities in the Hanford and Corcoran area.

Anita enjoyed sewing and has continued to sew since her early days in 4H as a young girl in Missouri. She was very gifted in this ability and has made numerous articles of clothing, bibs, and blankets for her grandchildren as well as her great grandchildren.

Anita is preceded in death by her husband, Harold Dean Rider, and her parents Ruby and Charles Mulford. Surviving family members include her three children, Jeffrey Rider of Hanford, David (and Heather) Rider of Hanford, and Cynthia Conklin of Hanford. She is also survived by her sisters, Joyce Smyers of Hanford, and Sharon Cox of Eureka, CA. In addition, she is survived by six grandchildren, three great grandchildren, two nephews, and one niece.

Services for Anita Rider will be held at the Peoples Funeral Chapel located at 501 North Douty St., Hanford, CA 93230 at 10am, Monday, December 18th, 2023.
