Antonio Paranada Pascual Jr. (Jun/Tony) passed away peacefully in the comfort of his home in Hanford, California on the morning of July 1, 2026. Antonio is the son of Antonio Pascual Sr. and Hildegarde Pascual, and was born on February 15, 1962 in the province of Bataan, PI. He is the youngest of four siblings, to include Ross Pascual, Reynold Pascual, and Arlene Retuta. He met his wife Marilex Pascual at a Marcelinean Fiesta in Daly City, and married her in 1991. He is survived by his four children Gabrielle, Cyril, Alexa, and Marcus, his first grandchild June, and many nieces and nephews.
Growing up, Antonio lived in San Marcelino, Zambales, PI. He helped his father on their family farm, raising livestock, tending to the fish pond, and growing crops such as rice, calamansi, turnips, mangos, and more. When he reached adulthood, Antonio left the Philippines and immigrated to Hawaii in order to begin processing for the Navy.
Antonio began his professional career by following in his father and brothers’ footsteps and enlisting in the U.S. Navy in 1981, becoming an Aviation Machinist Mate (AD). During his illustrious naval career, he served at multiple duty stations including NAS North Island, USS Kitty Hawk (CV-64), MCAS Tustin, NAS Cubi Pt., PMRF Barking Sands, NAS Whidbey Island, and NAS Lemoore. After 23 years of faithful service, Antonio finally retired as a Senior Chief (ADCS) at NAS Lemoore, CA, and settled down in the neighboring town of Hanford with his family. Shortly after retiring from the Navy, Antonio attended the correctional academy and served as a correctional officer for 13 years before finally retiring at Pleasant Valley State Prison. After his corrections tenure, he went back to school at the University of Phoenix and graduated with a bachelor of science in business management in May 2020.
In his downtime, Antonio enjoyed fine tuning and playing his acoustic and electric guitars, either by himself or with the company of others. He would also turn on his cd player or turntable and enjoy listening to a plethora of music, ranging from songs by The Beatles, ACDC, Journey, The Eagles, Michael Jackson, and many more. When time and weather permitted, Antonio loved to go to the outdoor range and shoot his firearms, from pistols, to rifles, and shotguns. Antonio was also a serious foody, who loved indulging in cuisine from many different cultures, to include Filipino, Japanese, Korean, and Mexican food to name a few. He was also an excellent cook, effortlessly whipping up delicious meals to satisfy the palettes of all he cooked for.
Antonio’s bright, empowering presence will be dearly missed by his family, friends, and loved ones. A gathering for his funeral viewing will be held at People’s Funeral Chapel in Hanford from July 14-15 followed by a funeral mass at St. Brigid’s Catholic Church on July 16.
